Club Information:

The Half Arabian Association of Michigan is a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of stimulating popular interest in the unique qualities of the Half-Arabian horse, and perpetuating that interest by showcasing its versatility as a breeding, pleasure, show and sport horse.

Club activities include organization and sponsorship of the annual Showtime Horse Show, the Michigan Arabian and Half- Arabian Breeders Futurity, equine related civic contributions, and the provision of an extensive and rewarding High Point program for members.

What's New at HAAM:

Sign up now to compete for the "BEST OF THREE" amateur high point award to be presented to the exhibitor earning the most points at the All Arabian, Showtime, and West Michigan Fall Classic shows. A sign up is available in the FORMS section of the website.

Once again HAAM will sponsor a booth at the annual Stallion Expo to be held in the MSU Pavilion in East Lansing, MI. on March 12-14, 2010. Look for HAAM president Gayle Ledwidge, Futurity Chairman Pat Bretz, and Delegate Cheryl Carlen at booth #416, where they will gladly answer questions about HAAM and the Half Arabian horse.

Showtime programs are going to the printer with only a few changes for 2010. With an eye toward pleasing our exhibitors, new in 2010 will be the addition of six Select Rider Classes in Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure and Country English Pleasure. English Pleasure Select Rider will also be available as an option class in both the Arabian and Half Arabian divisions. Showtime will again use a three day format, June 4-6, 2010, with exhibitor friendly scheduling of Arabian, Half Arabian, National Show Horse, and Sport Horse classes. Judge John Ryan will be officiating.

The MAHABF Breeders Futurity will be held in September. Contact Pat Bretz and nominate you horses now to participate in this prestigious event.

The long standing year ends awards banquet held in conjunction with AHAM had to be cancelled in 2009 due to decreased participation by the memberships of both clubs. There is currently no plan to reinstate the awards program and banquet, but HAAM is discussing alternative methods of implementing participation rewards for its membership. Your suggestions are always welcome.
